WORK WITH KARLHEINZ WEINBERGER

While working at the Galerie Schedler, Gerhard Hintermann met fellow photographer Karlheinz Weinberger. Until Weinberger’s death in 2006, the two artists worked through his extensive archive, in which he had collected pictures of gay men, Halbstarke (beatniks) and rockers. The work between Hintermann and Weinberger resulted in a fertile intergenerational exchange. This common discourse was of great personal importance for both and gravely influenced Hintermann’s early work.
